Our new older scout award takes advantage of everything camp has to offer, and lands surrounding it.  Information will be distributed to scouts and leaders looking to take part in this exciting program Sunday after dinner!

Archaeological Report Released

On July 28, 2007, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco will host its 80th anniversary celebration. No-Be’s 81 summers of continuous Boy Scout summer camping is the longest streak in all of New Jersey. In preparation for the many Scouting programs planned this year (including the Weboree, Order of the Arrow induction and section conclave, summer camp, and the anniversary day), Steve Kallesser and Joe Berlinghieri have been busy researching and revising the camp history, which had not been updated in the last 40 years.

Scouts to Maintain Appalachian Trail

Members of the Conservation Committee of Northern NJ Council, BSA were recently trained by the NY/NJ Trail Conference as trail maintainers. They have now been assigned the responsibility of maintaining about 3.8 miles of the Appalachian Trail immediately above Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco.

Archaeological Dig

On Saturday, December 9th, 2006, 13 members of the Battlefield Restoration and Archaeological Volunteer Organization (BRAVO) gave their time and expertise to investigate two areas of former settlements at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco. Based on their preliminary results, additional knowledge has been gained regarding the history of the Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco property prior to its purchase for the Boy Scouts.

Scouters Love Camp, Renovate Rosenberg Lodge

As Northern New Jersey prepares for the short-term camping season, Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco is making the final preparations to introduce a “new” cabin for use by Scouts.  A new cabin at No-Be?  

In 2007, Rosenberg Lodge was in very sad shape.  With a leaky roof and significant rot issues, the cabin was not long for this world.  Lacking electricity, a heat source, and reasonable access, the cabin was completely unused in a busy camp.  Being slightly off the beaten path, most campers didn’t even know it existed.  After the roof was damaged by a falling branch, Scouters knew that the cabin was only about a year away from collapsing.
